Curse of the Bibliophile

My name is Katie and books have and always will be one of my biggest passions in life. There isn't a day that goes by where I'm not seen lost in another world of books.
Of Poseidon - Anna Banks An exquisitely unique new YA that explores the realm below the ocean and brings readers on a journey they will never forget. The story was very well written and the beautiful descriptions and attention to detail really captured my imagination. The romance was paced nicely without having any kind of instant love thing like some YA romances do. The characters had time to get to know each other and in the process allow readers to really get to know and become attached to these great characters. The world of the Syrena was really intriguing and I enjoyed learning about it more and more throughout the book.Emma is a sweet and sometimes quirky girl who I would love to have as a friend. She is a fun character to get to know and I really like her spunkiness especially around Galen. Galen is a Syrena prince who is really dedicated to his job and his people. I really liked his character and seeing how he got along with Emma, although he could get a little arrogant. He could be so funny at times and then so serious at others. Another character that I really enjoyed was Galen’s sister Rayna. She did come across as a little abrasive in the beginning, but was fiercely protective of her friends and family. She was a fun character to get to know. I also enjoyed her relationship with Toraf because their interactions with each other were just so cute and I couldn’t help, but laugh at some of their antics. This story was spellbinding and I can’t wait to see what else this author comes up with!
