This book is not an easy or lighthearted read by any means, but it is all the more fascinating and thought provoking for this. “Believe like a child” deals with some very serious crimes that are being committed all the time sadly enough and is definitely a must read. I became immersed in the story almost immediately. Alessa’s journey is a sad, but hopeful one as she tries to escape her world of torment and misery. There were many tears shed while reading this, but in the end I was so glad I did. I almost felt as if I was a part of the story while reading because the descriptive imagery was just so real and the characters themselves seemed as if they would leap off the page. One thing’s for sure this book will keep you on the edge of your seat anticipating each turn of the page.
